Once added, the physical disk cannot be removed without destroying the hard drive.When a Protected Drive or UnProtected Drive nears capacity (or any time), it can be extended by adding more physical disks to the hard drive.

To extend a hard drive:
1 In the List View, right-click the drive to extend and select Extend Drive. Tip
2 A box with a list of all unpartitioned physical disks will appear. Select one or more disks to add to the hard drive.
When extending Protected Drives, physical disks are added as pairs. The best practice is to add pairs of equal size.
3 Click Extend.
