Out-of-synch Configurations

If communication was lost between servers in a server group and the DataCore Servers are unable to automatically reconcile the configuration differences, the configuration will be temporarily out-of-synchronization. The server with the most appropriate configuration must be selected in order to synchronize the configuration.

The Configuration Conflict dialog box displays some information which may assist the Administrator with selecting the server from which to recover.

  • The Config Changes Diff column shows the difference of configuration changes between the currently displayed server and the other servers in the group.
  • The Timestamp Diff column shows the difference in time (days.hours:minutes:seconds) between the last timestamp of the currently displayed server and the other servers in the group.

For example, in the graphic below, server VM403 has three fewer configuration changes than server VM401 and the last configuration change was made six seconds after the latest configuration change made by server VM401.

  • If in doubt of the correct server from which to recover the configuration, contact DataCore Technical Support for assistance.
  • If the configuration chosen to resynchronize had the DataCore Server started, then the server and mirror recovery will start immediately after the configuration is resynchronized. If this is undesirable, contact DataCore Technical Support before proceeding.

If the Configuration Conflict dialog box appears:

  1. Determine which server has the configuration to use. To view the configurations, select a server and click Switch.
  2. In the list, select the server with the configuration to synchronize from and click Synchronize.

  3. Click Yes to confirm your choice.
