Operations Accountant:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Accountant to work in our Cardiff offices and join our dynamic team. As a member of the global Finance team, the Finance Manager is responsible for areas relating to financial reporting, and a variety of accounting activities including multi-national, multi-currency consolidations, financial reporting, year-end audit support and working towards tight deadlines. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. In addition, the individual will work with the Director of Accounting Operations on technical accounting considerations both domestically and internationally. This position will have direct contact with the central US-based Finance team which requires strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills. 

The role will suit someone with a highly positive demeanour, who can cope well with a varied task list throughout each day, whilst being meticulously detailed in maintaining records and ensuring high standards are maintained. Although the role is heavily finance-weighted, there will involve office-based duties including working closely with our Operations Team to manage international shipping, undertake monthly stock takes, stock ordering and processing RMAs (return merchandise authorisation).

Duties:

·  Prepare and post monthly accruals, prepayments and similar accounting entries including maintaining a deferred revenue schedule relating to annual support invoicing

·Responsible for the raising of all sales invoices including the preparation of the monthly cloud sales invoices

·Managing the sales ledger including responsibility for the credit control function

·Supporting the purchase invoice processing function which is carried out by the central finance team

·Assisting the central finance team with regards to credit card and expense claim processing

·Assisting in the preparation of the weekly supplier payment listing as needed

·Assisting in the preparation and review of the monthly management accounts

·Responsible for all purchase ordering and arranging international shipping of the delivery of customer equipment

·Responsible for carrying out monthly stock takes

·Responsible for Return Merchandise Authorisation (RMA) processing 

·Preparation and submission of the quarterly VAT Returns

·Assisting with adhoc finance projects at both the local and head office level

·Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Operations and the Central Finance Team to ensure alignment and support the overall business objectives

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

·Experience with a multi-national and multi-functional currency environment

·Hands on experience with Xero or other large, automated ERP/accounting system

·Power user of Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel

·Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting with great attention to detail

·Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required

·Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions

·Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously

·Collaborative and team-oriented mindset, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams

·Self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented, with a strong sense of accountability and ownership


Education / Experience:

  • Preferable to be AAT qualified or;
  • Qualified by 3-5 years of proven experience as a Finance Manager, Operations Accountant or similar role
