One misconception is that DataCore Software-Defined Storage competes with storage devices (e.g., storage arrays). In reality, DataCore SDS is a software-only solution that virtualizes storage devices and, therefore, complements storage devices that “come and go” within storage infrastructure. DataCore enables new innovations like SSDs to be easily added and avoids the “rip and replace” approach typically needed to deploy virtualization projects. Instead, existing storage devices can be utilized and productivity and cost savings can be enhanced. DataCore SDS requires storage devices and, therefore, it is often installed along with solutions from HP, EMC, Dell, NetAPP, Hitachi, IBM, and many other storage array and device vendor offerings in the marketplace. Think of DataCore SDS like VMware or Microsoft software, where the choice of the underlying hardware being virtualized (HP, IBM, Dell servers) is a wholly separate decision. DataCore’s unique software-only solutions allow both a competitive advantage and the opportunity to co-sell with—and improve upon—these and other hardware solutions.

DataCore provides a variety of collateral to partners to assist them in positioning DataCore Software-Defined Storage solutions in a competitive market. Additionally, partners have access to DataCore sales engineers, distributor representatives, and other online tools and resources to provide assistance in pre-sales opportunities. Building Sales Opportunities

DataCore provides a variety of collateral to partners to assist them in positioning DataCore Software-Defined Storage solutions in a competitive market. DataCore offers product data sheets, solution overviews, and Partner Reference Cards to help partners. Much of the material is located on the DataCore website, and partners can log in to the DataCore Partner Portal for even more information and sales tools.

DataCore assigns leads to partners through our Partner Portal. Partners receive new opportunities and have the ability to work directly with their distributor and DataCore to capitalize on these opportunities and win new customers.

Resellers can work with authorized DataCore distribution partners to sell Software-Defined Storage products. However, only a DataCore Certified Implementation Engineer or authorized service partner can offer professional services. Positioning Solutions

DataCore Software-Defined Storage solutions offer advanced features and hardware independence that give resellers a business and economic benefits by avoiding risk, boosting productivity, containing costs, and protecting financial investments. DataCore SDS products are software-only solutions. However, resellers may combine hardware and DataCore SDS software to qualify and sell DataCore Ready™ solutions of their own. DataCore has both OEM and System-Builder partner programs available, and our products are available as integrated solutions through these channels. DataCore Software-Defined Storage products are topology-independent and support iSCSI, Fiber Channel, and FCoE.

Quoting

Resellers can quote DataCore products as a stand-alone quote or as part of a larger combined quote to their customers. For details on product configurations and pricing, contact your distributor.

DataCore Software-Defined Storage products are licensed on a per-node basis and what is called “managed capacity,” defined as the quantity of storage, in terabytes, that it manages and provisions. DataCore licensing is not based on ports, channels, or number of SAN clients.

DataCore offers special pricing for Federal, State, Local government and educational institutions. For pricing details contact your distributor.

Training

DataCore offers online and on-site training for both sales and technical services. The DataCore Sales Professional training is available online, technical training is offered as lab-based, instructor-led training through our authorized training partners. DataCore certifications and partner competency requirements vary but generally require either online or classroom-based training (based on the specific certification), an exam, and, in some cases, a lab-based hands-on skills assessment.
