About the Role:
As a Senior Technical Writer, you will play a key role in crafting clear, accurate, and user-focused documentation for our enterprise software and storage solutions. This role demands a strong technical acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to transform complex concepts into easy-to-understand content for a range of technical audiences. You’ll be part of a dynamic, cross-functional environment where your contributions directly impact product usability and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, update, and maintain end-user product documentation (such as user guides, release notes, API documentation, knowledge base articles, and online help) to help customers understand the product.
- Collaborate with Cross Functional teams, Product Managers, Technical Leads, Software Engineers, Developers, QA, Solution Architects, legal, marketing and Support teams to gather information and deliver high-quality technical content.
- Work closely with Technical Subject Matter Experts and Engineering teams to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into easy-to-understand documentation.
- Collaborate with UI/UX teams to ensure consistency between product UI and documentation.
- Manage and maintain documentation in version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Ensure documentation aligns with company style guides and documentation standards.
- Participate in agile development cycles and provide documentation support during sprints and releases.
- Collects and interprets technical data or information into usable content.
- Incorporate customer feedback and support insights into improving documentation quality and usability.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in documentation tools, processes, and standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
- 5–7 years’ of experience as a Technical Writer in a software or storage product company.
- Strong understanding of enterprise software, storage systems, or cloud technologies.
- Proven experience in planning and delivering customer-focused documentation.
- Experience working directly with engineering teams on products targeting technical audiences (developers, DevOps, IT professionals, etc.).
- Proficiency in XML-based authoring tools such as MadCap Flare, Confluence, or Markdown-based documentation systems (e.g., Docusaurus).
- Proficiency in using HTML5, CSS3, and version control platforms such as GitHub.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Strong command over written English with attention to clarity, grammar, and technical accuracy.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in the storage domain and a certification in Technical Writing will be considered an added advantage.
