DataCore and VMware to Discuss and Evaluate the Benefits of Universal VMware vSphere Virtual Volumes (VVols)

Todd Mace is tech evangelist at DataCore Software, where he focuses on storage and performance abstraction. He
recently was a co-author on this subject and has been honored to speak at many industry events. His current certifications include: MCSE, MCT, VCP5 and he
is also recognized as a VMware vExpert.

Rawlinson Rivera is a principal architect in the office of the CTO of the storage and availability business unit at VMware, Inc. He specializes in cloud
enterprise architectures, Hyper-converged Infrastructures (HCI) and is primarily focused on Software-Defined Storage products and technologies such as
Virtual SAN, and vSphere Virtual Volumes, as well as storage related solutions for OpenStack and Cloud-Native Applications. He serves as a trusted adviser
to VMware’s customers primarily in the US. Rawlinson is among the few VMware Certified Design Experts (VCDX #86) in the world, and author of multiple books
based on VMware and other technologies.

DataCore Software and VMware will be hosting an informative breakfast seminar to discuss ways to improve application performance and manage various storage
vendors from a single pane of glass, while reducing costs.

Mace and Rivera will overview DataCore’s storage software abstraction with VMware vSphere Virtual Volumes (VVols) support. While many administrators crave
the power and fine-grain control that vSphere Virtual Volumes offers, most current storage arrays and systems do not support it or are not currently
certified as VVol capable. This capability enabled by DataCore allows VVols to work universally across all kinds of storage (disk subsystems, flash / SSD
arrays, DAS, etc.) and enables VMware vSphere administrators to self-provision virtual volumes from virtual storage pools. This gives them the ability to
instantly specify the capacity and class of service needed for their applications without having to know anything about the storage or underlying hardware.

DataCore’s implementation of VVols enables customers to realize its benefits on legacy storage and arrays that are not yet slotted to receive VVols,
allowing un-certified storage gear to receive the benefit today. Rivera and Mace will also cover Storage Policy-Based Management as well as Heterogeneity
High Availability (HA).
