DataCore Software Adds Tech Data U.S. as a New Distributor of Its Storage Virtualization and Business Continuity Solutions

The relationship extends DataCore Software’s distribution channel and brings additional value to resellers through Tech Data’s virtualization-focused product offerings.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida – January 7, 2008 – DataCore Software, the leading provider of storage virtualization, business continuity and disaster recovery software solutions, today announced its new distribution agreement with Tech Data Corporation (NASDAQ:TECD), one of the world’s largest distributors. The Advanced Infrastructure Solutions (AIS) Division of Tech Data Corporation – which focuses on the server, storage and software solutions comprising today’s corporate data center – now distributes the full line of DataCore’s cost-effective storage virtualization, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions. Tech Data will educate resellers on the distinct advantages of DataCore’s solutions, including manufacturer independent storage virtualization, storage performance acceleration and automatic, fault-tolerant data protection. These advantages, inherent to DataCore’s software-centric approach, reduce downtime, maximize cost savings, and make storage a virtual resource that is easily managed within and readily aligned to virtual server and desktop infrastructures.

“Above all, the partnership with Tech Data will expose DataCore’s business continuity and virtual storage solutions to more top VARs throughout North America,” said Christian Hagen, vice president of sales for the Americas and EMEA, DataCore Software. “Tech Data already has extensive experience supporting VARs focusing on server virtualization technologies through its alliance with VMware as well as partnerships with HP and IBM. These VARs already understand the benefits of server virtualization, and that they are only able to realize half of the total sale potential by not providing a cost-effective storage virtualization and fault tolerant SAN solution to meet the needs of their server and desktop virtualization customers”

Tech Data’s AIS Division Now Offers VARs Leading Storage Virtualization and Business Continuity Solutions from DataCore Software

“It has become standard practice for organizations to embrace end-to-end virtualization spanning both servers and storage,” said Amy Belcher, Tech Data’s director of product marketing, Advanced Infrastructure Solutions. “Virtualization technologies are transforming data centers and by adding DataCore to our virtualization ecosystem we are better able to help VARs provide their customers with industry leading virtualization solutions.”

DataCore(tm) makes it simple for users to virtualize their disks, achieve full utilization of their storage investment, enhance performance and attain the highest levels of availability and data protection.

Tech Data’s Advanced Infrastructure Solutions Division

Through its Advanced Infrastructure Solutions Division, Tech Data continues to lead the channel in supporting value-added resellers (VARs) implementing virtualization solutions to enhance IT operations for end users ranging from small businesses to large enterprises. The addition of the full product line from DataCore both extends and complements Tech Data’s virtualization portfolio, which is backed by trained sales and technical support.

The AIS Division supports the channel’s most robust data center solutions offerings, comprising server, storage and virtualization products from industry leaders like Fujitsu, HP, IBM, VMware, and now DataCore.
