DataCore Software Partners with Alliance Solutions to Expand Reach Into Federal Government Market

DataCore selects 10-year-old, public sector consulting firm Alliance Solutions to better serve the virtualization needs of the United States government

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – June 30, 2011 –
DataCore Software, the industry’s premier provider of storage virtualization software, today announced that it has partnered with Alliance Solutions, a federally-focused business development consulting firm. Since its launch earlier this year, DataCore’s SANsymphony™-V has been in high demand and by partnering with Alliance Solutions, will leverage their deep expertise in the government market to identify and secure opportunities within this vertical market

“Organizations of all types, sizes and missions continue to migrate to cloud resources for its increased efficiencies, especially in the data center,” said Harold Youra, president of Alliance Solutions, “DataCore brings a level of sophistication to next-generation IT infrastructures by simplifying the complexity of managing storage resources. Just as it does in the private sector, DataCore can enable federal customers to have the virtualization capabilities necessary to better manage their data storage and overall IT infrastructure.”

The Office of Management and Budget’s “25 Point Implementation Plan to Reform Federal Information Technology Management” calls for reducing the number of federal data centers in the U.S. from 2,100 to 1,300 by year 2015. This same report calls for the “Cloud First” initiative where the federal government will invest up to $20 billion dollars in cloud based technology, which will be funded by the shutting down and consolidation of 800 federal data centers.

“With OMB’s resolve to shift $20 billion in government spending to the cloud, this is a prime opportunity for DataCore and Alliance Solutions to pursue opportunities in the government sector,” said Dan Crowe, sales director-federal for DataCore Software. “We are looking to Alliance Solutions for their extensive knowledge and expertise at the federal level in helping us with business development, including leveraging DataCore’s reseller partners and ecosystem to make turn deals into deployments. They are very much an extension of our own sales team in terms of facilitating and accelerating the sales cycle.”

Alliance Solutions has been leveraging its experience in technology for over 10 years. The company partnered with Business Objects, Microsoft Corp, OpenText, PeopleSoft, VMware and other technology vendors in the public sector. Similarly, Alliance Solutions will target prospective organizations to get DataCore storage virtualization software in more test environments and ultimately running in production as Storage Area Network (SAN) servers for federal agencies and public sector users. DataCore SANsymphony-V turns standard, Windows-based x86 servers into SANs.

Announced in January 2011, SANsymphony-V software enables data centers to use existing equipment and conventional storage devices to achieve the robust and responsive shared storage environment necessary to support highly dynamic virtual IT environments. This contrasts sharply with the expensive “rip and replace” approaches being proposed to support desktop and server virtualization projects.
