DataCore Supports the Ahrweiler District Authority’s Fundraising Initiative for Flood Victims

Unterföhring, 16 December 2021 – Following the catastrophic floods in numerous towns and villages in North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate, DataCore launched an appeal for donations on the GoFundMe crowdfunding platform to support the Ahrweiler district authority’s fundraising initiative. For many years, the district authority has been a DataCore customer for 13 years, and DataCore’s global team wanted to help the district’s community get life back to normal. The entire donation of €6,000 has already been transferred to the local bank, the Kreissparkasse Ahrweiler, and was raised through voluntary donations from the company’s employees, customers, and partners.

This year’s catastrophic flooding caused widespread damage in North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate, particularly in areas along the River Ahr, but also in other parts of Germany, with many people losing their homes and livelihoods. The Ahrweiler district authority was one of the worst-hit areas right from the start, with the effects of the floods still being felt today.

It therefore meant a great deal to DataCore’s team to be able to donate to the district authority’s fundraising initiative, which will help vulnerable local communities in one of the German districts most impacted by the catastrophe. To facilitate this, DataCore launched a crowdfunding campaign on GoFundMe to which employees, resellers, and customers could donate, with every Euro raised going directly to the “Flood Relief” account at the Kreissparkasse Ahrweiler.
