SAN Compatibility

DataCore Software-Defined Storage

SAN Compatibility (iSCSI, Fibre Channel, etc.)

You may configure DataCore software-defined storage services to take advantage of standard SAN protocols. In most cases physical SANs connect the storage consumer (hosts) to the virtual disks. They may also be virtual networks, as is the case when virtual machines (VMs) access the DataCore software hosted on the same physical server using virtual iSCSI or virtual Fibre-Channel connections.

SAN Protocols Supported

Target Connection
  • iSCSI (Switched and point-to-point)
  • Fibre Channel (Switched and point-to-point)
  • Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE)
  • Switched – Host uses Converged Network Adapter (CNA), and switch outputs Fibre Channel
  • iSCSI
  • Fibre Channel
Mirror Channels
  • iSCSI
  • Fibre Channel
